Insurance Coverage

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)

CDW is included in your rental. It limits the renter’s liability in case of damage to the rental vehicle, subject to a maximum of US$648 for small cars and US$1,080 for larger vehicles.

All coverage is only valid with a police report from the accident scene.

Theft Waiver (THW)

THW is not included in your rental. The renter is fully responsible in case of theft.
A valid police report is mandatory in case of theft.

Third Party Liability (TPL)

Provides coverage for third-party bodily injury or property damage up to US$83,000, with a deductible ranging between US$270 – US$324, depending on vehicle class.

Excess Reduction Options

Additional insurance options are not available at the rental desk to reduce the excess.
The renter is directly responsible for any and all damages to the rental vehicle, including water damage to convertibles.
All damages must be settled before leaving the island.
External or credit card insurance policies are not accepted. Any insurance coverage between the renter and their insurance provider is not recognized by the rental supplier.

Important Notice:

1. In the event of an accident, theft, fire, or any damage to the vehicle, the renter must immediately notify both the police (911) and Forensys (165), as well as the rental office.

An official accident or incident report issued by the relevant authority — including the Forensys report required for insurance — together with any supporting documentation, must be provided to the rental office. Failure to obtain and submit these documents will result in insurance coverage being void. Whenever possible, the renter should not leave the vehicle unattended and must wait for authorized assistance.

2. If an accident, theft, or damage occurs in a rural or remote area, the renter must provide a formal statement at the nearest police station or other competent authority. All documentation issued by the authorities, including any official report or statement, must be submitted to the rental office. Submission of these documents is mandatory for insurance coverage to remain valid.

3. Damages resulting from vandalism, towing, or road assistance due to negligence are not covered.

4. Insurance does not cover damages of any type caused by driving through rivers, lakes, beaches, mangroves, flooded roads, or off-road areas. Such actions will void all insurance coverage, and the renter will be fully responsible for all resulting damages.

5. No insurance coverage applies if the driver is under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident.

6. No coverage applies if the vehicle is driven by an unauthorized driver not listed in the rental agreement.

7. CDW coverage does not include vandalism, glass damage, flat tires, wheels, keys, or accessories. In cases where damage results from causes other than a collision with another vehicle, the renter must assume full responsibility for the cost of repairs.

8. Damages to the interior of the vehicle, including upholstery, loss of keys or documents, license plates, or emergency kits, are not covered by insurance. Charges will apply according to the cost of repair or replacement.

9. The renter and any additional drivers are fully liable for any loss or damage to the rental vehicle, even when caused by a third party or when the cause is unknown (including theft, collision, or vandalism).

10. Credit card details are securely held on file to cover any tolls, parking fines, or traffic violations incurred during the rental period, and may be charged accordingly.

Vehicle Condition
You must return the vehicle in the same condition as it was in when you received it, minus the normal wear and tear. The Supplier will charge you at their own rates for any excessive staining/soiling and/or for both internal and external damage (including strong smells). You are responsible for inspecting the vehicle upon pick-up/drop-off and for the cost of any new damage found at the end of your rental period.

Off-road driving
Off-road driving, including entry into Arikok National Park is strictly prohibited.
Violation will result in a non-compliance fine of US$2,000, and the renter will be fully responsible for all resulting damages.
The vehicle may only be used on paved, public roads.
Towing from remote areas costs between US$2,000 and US$5,000 and must be paid directly to the towing company. Any damage resulting from offroad use will not be covered by insurance and will be fully charged to the customer. All insurance becomes void if the vehicle is driven off-road.
